In order to promote the growth of the Hospitality sector and Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions (MICE) under tourism industry in the state, and thereby to give an impetus to the local economy, it is envisaged to develop a Convention Center in Vijayawada.

The new capital of Andhra Pradesh is to be situated at Amaravati which is very close to Vijayawada and is expected to host large no. of meetings, conferences and exhibition based events in the coming years making it imperative for having a state-of-art Convention Centre to be built at Vijayawada.
